Peter Brown is one of British Columbia's most influential business leaders. He founded Canaccord Genuity in 1968, transforming it into Canada's largest independent investment dealer, with offices globally. Canaccord Genuity went public in 2004 and at the time of his departure, Canaccord Genuity was earning $750 million in revenue.

Beyond Canaccord Genuity, Peter has been deeply involved in the community. He currently serves as the Chairman of The Fraser Institute, the Vancouver Police Foundation, and the Investment Industry Association of Canada. Additionally, he was appointed by the Canadian government to be the Lead Director of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Games, successfully bringing the Olympics to Vancouver in 2010.

Through his contributions, Peter has received various awards including the BC Chamber of Commerce Businessman of the Year Award, the BC & Yukon Chamber of Mines Financier Award, the Pacific Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Distinguished Service Award by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, and a Commemorative Medal for the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.

Noah Wintroub

Noah joined the former Hambrecht & Quist in 1999, which was later acquired by J.P. Morgan Chase. He is currently a Vice Chairman of Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan, and is the bank’s youngest-ever Vice Chairman. Based in San Francisco, Noah is responsible for J.P. Morgan’s coverage of the Internet and Digital Media sector. In his role, Noah provides strategic advisory and capital raising services for technology, media and telecom clients in the areas of Internet and Digital Media and partners with traditional media and telecommunications clients to help bridge the gap between new and traditional media worlds. Noah has worked on a number of high-profile transactions during his career including Facebook follow on offering, GoDaddy IPO, Twitter IPO, eBay high grade bond issue, and Alibaba Group IPO. 

Noah graduated Magna Cum Laude from Colgate University with a B.A. in History and a minor in Religion. Throughout his life, he has visited over 30 counties. Noah also serves as Treasurer of the JWeekly, Northern California’s weekly Jewish Newspaper. He is an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoys running in his spare time. Noah was also named to Fortune’s 40 Under 40 list in 2015.

Frank Giustra

Frank Giustra has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Fiore Financial Corporation (Fiore) since 2007. Fiore is a private merchant bank that focuses on creating, financing, and launching investment opportunities in the natural resource sector. Prior to joining Fiore, Frank's track record in the natural resource industry include serving as President and later Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yorkton Securities in the 1990s, serving as Chairman of Endeavour Financial from 2001 to 2007, and launching numerous resource companies.  In 1997, he founded Lionsgate Entertainment and served as its Chairman from 1997 to 2003. Frank is currently a board member of Lionsgate Entertainment Corporation, Endeavour Mining Corporation and Petromanas Energy Incorporated.Frank joined the International Crisis Group as an executive member in 2005 and launched the Clinton Giustra Enterprise Partnership with former President Bill Clinton in 2007.

Robert Herjavec

Robert Herjavec is one of North America's most recognizable business leaders. A dynamic entrepreneur, Robert has built and sold several IT companies to major players such as AT&T. In 2003 Robert founded Herjavec Group, and it quickly became one of North America’s fastest growing technology companies, scaling from $400K in sales to a run rate of $150 million. David Trujillo

Mr. Trujillo is a Partner of TPG and leads TPG's Internet, Media and Communications investing efforts. Prior to joining TPG in 2006, Mr. Trujillo was a Vice President of GTCR Golder Rauner, LLC and an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. Mr. Trujillo is currently a Director of RentPath, Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and Univision Communications. Mr. Trujillo led TPG's recent growth equity investments in Uber and airbnb, as well as TPG's historic credit investments in Citadel Broadcasting and Clear Channel Communications. Mr. Trujillo previously served on the boards of Fenwal, Sorenson Communications, HSM Electronic Protection Services and Triad Financial. Mr. Trujillo received a B.A. from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Curt Sigfstead

Curt joined J.P. Morgan’s Technology M&A Group in 1997. In 1999, he relocated to San Francisco to drive the expansion of the firm’s Technology Investment Banking & M&A platform. Over his career, Curt has worked with technology leaders such as Apple, Cisco, Dell, EMC, Ericsson, HP, Motorola, NetApp, Teradata and VMWare on mission critical strategic and financing assignments. He has led over 30 IPOs for emerging technology companies, managed private placements and venture investments, and has led over $75 BN of technology mergers and acquisitions. Curt has a B.A in International Relations from Brown University, and an M.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He is a founding member of the C-100, a non-profit, member-driven, organization that supports Canadian technology entrepreneurship through mentorship, partnership and investment. In addition, he is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of Shawnigan Lake School and the San Francisco Marin Food Bank.

Carrie Cook

Carrie joined RBC Capital Markets' Global Investment Banking team in 2010. Carrie is responsible for investment banking coverage of clients in the Canadian retail and consumer sectors. Carrie has worked on a wide range of M&A advisory assignments, IPOs, and equity and debt financings for clients such as Loblaws, Canadian Tire, Dollarama, Shoppers Drug Mart and the Hudson’s Bay Company. Recent transactions include the acquisition and financing of Saks by Hudson’s Bay Company, the Hudson’s Bay Company IPO, the acquisition of Shoppers by Loblaws, the IPO of CT REIT by Canadian Tire, and the Choice Properties IPO from Loblaw. Carrie has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. Carrie is also a Director of Toronto Rehab Foundation. Prior to joining RBC, Carrie spent 13 years at CIBC World Markets covering the retail and consumer sectors.

Egizio Bianchini

Egizio is a Capital Markets Vice-Chair and Global Co-Head of the Global Metals & Mining group. The group is a world leader in the development of financing, M&A and strategic advisory solutions. Egizio’s track record includes numerous transactions for a wide range of metals and mining companies, including the C$8 billion purchase of Red Back Mining by Kinross Gold; the C$3.7 billion sale of Meridian Gold to Yamana Gold; UraMin Inc.’s US$2.5 billion sale to Areva; and Alcoa’s US$33 billion bid for Alcan. Egizio joined BMO Capital Markets in 1989.

Prior to joining Global Metals & Mining, Egizio was a top-rated Research Analyst covering precious metals and mineral stocks. He holds an MBA from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Toronto.

Clive Johnson

Clive Johnson was involved with Bema and its predecessor companies since 1977. When Bema was created by the amalgamation of three Bema group companies in 1988, Mr. Johnson was appointed the President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Johnson was instrumental in Bema’s transition from a junior exploration company to an international intermediate gold producer. Mr. Johnson oversees the long-term strategy and development as well as the day-to-day activities of B2Gold.

Andrew Sweeney

Andrew is an institutional portfolio manager with Phillips, Hager and North Investment Management (PH&N IM). Andrew also has responsibilities for Canadian income oriented equity portfolios and provides liaison with clients for U.S. equities. He joined PH&N IM in 2007, having previously been a portfolio manager of large capitalization Canadian equities with a well-respected Canadian investment management firm and the manager of its successful dividend income fund.  Since entering the industry in 1995, Andrew has had analytical research responsibilities for a range of sectors.  Andrew is also an adjunct professor at Simon Fraser University in the Beedie School of Business.  Andrew became a CFA charterholder in 1996.

W. Brett Wilson

W. Brett Wilson is one of Canada’s best-known businessmen and most respected philanthropists. As an alumna of Dragons’ Den, he has used this public platform to promote entrepreneurship and innovation to audiences throughout Canada. He is also recognized author and expert on strategic philanthropy.

In 1993, he co-founded FirstEnergy Capital Corp. one of the industry’s leading investment banks, now one of Canada’s most respected companies. FirstEnergy is a leader in institutional sales, trading, research, financings, and a pioneer in innovative corporate philanthropy. In addition to his energy interests, Brett has acquired holdings in the real estate, agriculture, sport and entertainment industries. He is also Chairman of Canoe Financial, one of the top 20 mutual fund companies in Canada.

Brett has been singled out for many awards and recognition including Alberta’s Business Person of the Year, Calgary’s Person of the Year, and recognition as a Nation Builder for his role in encouraging entrepreneurship, particularly among youth. In 2010, he received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Royal Roads University. He became a Member of the Order of Canada in 2011. His book, Redefining Success: Still Making Mistakes, is available through Penguin Books.

Harry Culham

Harry Culham is Managing Director and Group Co-Head, Wholesale Banking with CIBC World Markets Inc. He is responsible for all Wholesale Banking Capital Markets businesses globally. 

Prior to joining CIBC in May 2008, Mr. Culham was with a global U.S. bank in London as the Managing Director of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities. Previous to that, he was Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities in London for a large German bank. He has also held senior roles in capital markets with other global banks in Europe and Asia. Mr. Culham started his career with CIBC in the graduate training program, working in the foreign exchange business in Toronto from 1990 to 1994. 

Mr. Culham is a member of the Wholesale Banking Management Committee and a member of the CIBC World Markets Board of Directors. He graduated from the University of British Columbia, Sauder School of Business, and is a Portfolio Management Foundation (PMF) alumnus and Leslie Wong Fellow.

Ian Telfer

Mr. Telfer was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Company effective November 15, 2006, and was appointed Chairman of the World Gold Council in December 2009. Prior to this, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since March 17, 2005, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wheaton River Minerals Ltd. prior to such time since September 2001. Mr. Telfer has over 25 years of experience in the precious metals business. He has served as a director and/or officer of several Canadian and international companies. Mr. Telfer is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Ottawa. Mr. Telfer’s wealth of management, leadership and business skills from his professional experience described above, combined with an in-depth institutional knowledge of the Company’s business resulting from his prior role as President and Chief Executive Officer and extensive experience in the mining industry, provide a direct benefit to both the functionality of the Board and to the Company’s shareholders.

Doug Guzman

Doug Guzman is head of Global Investment Banking of RBC Capital Markets. He is responsible for the firm's Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets teams globally, as well as U.S. Municipal Finance. In addition, Doug has senior client coverage responsibility for a number of RBC Capital Markets' most important clients. Doug is a member of the firm's Operating Committee and Loan Commitments Committee. Doug has led client transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and restructurings in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Before joining RBC, Doug was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in New York and Toronto, where he had overall responsibility for their Global Metals and Mining business and the Canadian Investment Banking business. Doug has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honors Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA with high distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School.

Patrick Meneley

Patrick is a Vice Chair of TD Securities and Head of Global Investment Banking, with responsibility for all Investment Banking activities undertaken by TD Securities. This includes defining our client relationship strategy, and providing integrated strategic and capital markets services to help our clients build value in their respective businesses. Our Investment Banking services include Mergers & Acquisition, Corporate Lending, and Debt & Equity Capital Markets. We serve clients in a range of industries including Energy, Mining, Real Estate, Communications & Media, Diversified Industries and Financial Institutions.

Prior to assuming this role in 2001, Patrick headed TD Securities’ Communications & Media group as it established a leading position in this sector. Prior to joining TD Securities in June 1997, Patrick was with Salomon Brothers in New York and Toronto providing international financing and advisory services to Canadian companies. Patrick is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, Upper Canada Chapter, and was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 2002. He is active in various philanthropic organizations including The Hospital for Sick Children, Havergal College, Upper Canada College and The United Way.

Patrick holds an MBA (with distinction) from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce (with honours) from the University of British Columbia.

Matthew Quinlan

Matthew has over ten years of experience in the investment banking industry and has acted for clients in transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $30 billion. Recent advisory and financing experience include mandates for Anglo American, Teck Resources, Goldcorp, Pan American Silver, Silvercorp, Andean Resources, Red Back Mining, EuroZinc Mining and Falconbridge.

Matthew graduated with a B.Sc. (Eng.) (Hons.) in Mechanical Engineering and Business Finance from University College London and The London School of Economics and Political Science in 1995. Matthew also holds the Chartered Accountancy and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.

Jim Gilliland

Jim joined Leith Wheeler in 2009. He has extensive investment experience in Canadian and U.S. fixed income markets through his time at HSBC Asset Management/M.K. Wong & Associates in Vancouver (1993-2001) and Barclays Global Investors (BGI) in San Francisco (2002-2009). Among his achievements were building out and managing a team of professionals covering interest rate strategies, corporate credit, securitized credit, and emerging markets; launching and managing a successful fixed income hedge fund; developing platforms to manage risk; and developing customized client solutions and liability driven products. He leads Leith Wheeler’s bond team and chairs Leith Wheeler’s Portfolio Review Committee.

Jim is a graduate of University of British Columbia (B. Comm. with honours). After his work at HSBC, Jim earned his Masters degree in Financial Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. Jim holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Don Lindsay

Don Lindsay was appointed President of Teck in January 2005 and assumed the additional responsibility of Chief Executive Officer in April 2005.

Before joining Teck, Don was President of CIBC World Markets and led the bank’s Investment and Corporate Banking Division as well as the Asia Pacific Region. Earlier in his career he was responsible for CIBC’s Global Mining Group. Don has a B.Sc., (Hons.) Mining Engineering from Queens University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Don is currently a Governor of the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation in Vancouver and is also Chair of the Campaign for B.C. Children, a capital campaign to raise $200 million to build a new acute care hospital. Most recently, he was awarded the 2009 Mining Person of the Year award from the Mining Association of British Columbia. Earlier in his career he served on the Board of St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation in Toronto and was Co-Chair of the Heart Health Campaign. Don was a member of the United Way’s Major Individual Giving Cabinet in Toronto for several years and has also served the United Way of Lower Mainland in B.C. as division chair for Natural Resources. He was Vice Chair of the Greater Toronto Scout Foundation and Chair of the Investment Committee. Don is on the Board of Governors of the Royal Ontario Museum. He also served for several years on the Board of the Canada China Business Council. In his capacity as Chair of the International Zinc Association, Don has been actively involved in launching the Zinc Saves Kids campaign, a program in partnership with UNICEF designed to address zinc deficiency which claims the lives of as many as 450,000 children annually around the world.

Teck is a diversified resource company committed to responsible mining and mineral development with major business units focused on copper, steelmaking coal, zinc and energy. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, its shares are listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbols TCK.A and TCK.B and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol TCK.

William John

Will is RBC Global Asset Management Head of Fixed Income Vancouver and an analyst in the fixed income team, with responsibilities for managing short-term and Universe bond portfolios. Will joined Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management in 2008. Prior to joining Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management, he was a Director and Co-head of U.S. Government Bond Trading at a multi-national, bank-owned capital company. Based in New York, he managed a group of eight market-makers in financial centres around the world with responsibility for a range of maturities along the U.S. Treasury curve. Previous to this, Will was the Vice President for U.S. Government bond trading at another multi-national bank. He entered the industry in 2000 and has applied his mathematics training to fixed income trading models throughout his career. Will holds a Bachelor of Mathematics (with Honours) from the University of Waterloo (2000).

Paul Donnelly

Paul joined Macquarie in 1995 and has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Macquarie Capital Markets Canada since December 2007. Since joining Macquarie, Paul’s focus has been on complex ECM and M&A transactions for clients across all sectors. Paul led some of Australia’s most complex and innovative IPOs and advised on more than 50 capital structuring transactions including hybrid securities and share buybacks playing a large part in the development of the Australian hybrid market. Paul has also advised governments and special committees in the UK, Hungary and Australia on privatisations and asset sales.

David is Managing Director & Head, British Columbia for RBC Capital Markets. David’s investment banking career included work in Vancouver, Toronto and New York with Scotia Capital, BMO Capital Markets and Salomon Brothers. Prior to joining RBCCM in 2009, David gained experience outside of investment banking, acting as EVP Business Development with Inwest Investments and Wesbild Holdings. During the past 18 years, David has advised a wide range of companies on mergers & acquisitions and capital raising transactions. David received his BCom from The University of British Columbia and he is a graduate of the Portfolio Management Foundation, or PMF.
